Victoria Laurie

Victoria was born in Texas, but moved with her family to Florida. She was an avid reader, and gothic romance became her favorite genre. An English major, she always felt she would get around to writing at some point in her life. She traveled to Ireland as a young adult and fell hard. A vague idea formed in her head of the novel she would someday write. It would include an artistic young girl who would somehow gain the privilege of creating illuminated manuscripts. The idea evolved years later into her first book, Brigid's Handmaid, in which Keelan does indeed get to develop her talent and work on many manuscripts in the scriptoria of Irish monasteries.\n\nVictoria still resides in Florida with her husband and two cats. She is working on a second book, set in 1950s Tallahassee, which centers around civil rights activities. The main character is a young woman who is racially mixed, but her family is secretive about the circumstances of her birth.
